SCI primarily affects young adults between the ages 16-30
Over 80% of SCI reported to the national database have occurred among males
Most common cause of SCI are car accidents, then falls, followed by acts of violence (primarily gunshot wounds) & sports
Males are almost twice as likely as females to experience a TBI
Brain injuries are most often caused by car accidents, sports injuries, or simple falls on the playground, at work or in the home
At least 5.3 million Americans, 2% of the population, currently live with a disability resulting from TBI
Lifetime cost of an SCI can hit the million mark
Estimates calculate there are over 12,000 new spinal cord injuries every year
Statistics estimated there are 250,000- 300,000 Americans living with paralysis in the US
We understand many with neurological injury/disease are offered little to no hope with recovery after leaving the hospital and traditional rehabilitation ends. It’s our goal to be part of the driving force that pushes that limited prognosis far beyond what traditional thought has dictated for so long. Clients come in facing some of the biggest challenges a person can face, we hope to be a positive part of their journey on the path to living their lives to the fullest.
